Our response:

We are not able to provide advice but try to provide general information to help you take the next step. Depending on the type of account(s) your investments are held within generally, capital losses on an investment can be offset against capital gains (not against other types of income) to determine your net gains in the current year or any of the previous three years you can also carry forward the capital losses indefinitely, to be offset against future capital gains.
