Our response:

If a company is privately held, you may not be able access certain types of information without contacting the company and asking. You may be able to find private company information using sources such as, a business registry search. Alternatively, public companies are required to file documents such as annual information forms, annual and quarterly financial statements, management’s discussion and analysis (MD&A), management information circulars, material change reports and prospectuses. You can find disclosure documents on company websites or by visiting System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval (SEDAR) for Canadian public company disclosures.
