Can I claim an RRSP receipt even though it is in my wife’s name?

Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) issuers are required to provide a receipt for the amounts you contributed. If you contributed to your spouse’s RRSP, the receipt should name you as the contributor and your spouse as the annuitant. Only the contributor can claim a contribution on a tax return.
