Canadian securities regulators are currently consulting on a proposed regulatory framework for crypto-asset trading platforms. On March 14, 2019, a consultation paper was published to seek feedback on how requirements may be tailored for crypto-asset trading platforms operating in Canada whose operations engage securities law. The feedback will be used to establish a framework that provides regulatory clarity to crypto-asset trading platforms, address risks to investors and creates greater market integrity.
